What's the budget here - are you/they looking for $100k a year or is it for some other time frame?

I assume it's non-tax-deductible for Americans?

Irish charity, so IRS doesn't recognise it.

Instead of a direct answer, let me say that I took over UCD Junior Maths Enrichment with a handful of students and once-off funding of 6k. Now we have 200+ students signing up each semester at a stretched budget of 12k+/year (and we're nowhere near meeting demand).

I should add, there are colleagues in the Trust who volunteer way more of their time, as you'll see scrolling down here - https://www.irishmathstrust.com/news

They consider me less bad at raising money (or perhaps they recognised my susceptibility to bullying by Sam), so made me Chair.

How does a U.S.ian easily, successfully and safely donate?

Credit card should be as safe as any other site. The donation form is hosted by iDonate - here's the version on their site https://www.idonate.ie/forms/DonatetotheIrishMathsTrust , as far as I know with a Stripe backend (but I could be wrong).

Much appreciated, the kindness of strangers!

*Self promoting* you might find these notes interesting, explaining how the Eotvos/KoMAL competitions in Hungary helped to develop a maths culture in the early 20th century. Could something similar be revived/created?

Yes, it would be very interesting to revisit this topic and to write more about developing a maths culture in Ireland.

Can the IrMO not get funding from one of the very, very many finance firms HQ'd in Dublin? I know that the IMO itself has to fight off sponsors and, I don't know this for sure, but the Dutch Maths Olympiad's finances appear to also be healthy as it is funded by Optiver.

What firms do you have in mind? I've shared it with as many such people as I can think of...
